Might be no help at all but as old fashioned chargers cannot be bought now, I have an 80W solar panel on my shed roof with an output through a charge controller. Managed to "revitalise" a few batteries with that. :D

I've not started the bike for over two months now and it's a birch to get going. Not sure what makes it like that because it starts so easily if you do it regularly.

Battery just arrived this morning. That was pretty quick, came via UPS. I'll get it sorted out then on the charger for a quick boost.

Charged the battery up briefly using my smart charger.

Installed and up she fired.

Noticed it comes with a two year warranty.

Usually because most of the volatile aromatics in the fuel in the float bowl evaporate off, and what's left in the carb is barely more flammable than paraffin or diesel! Also, fuel these days "goes off" far faster than it did 10 years ago. When you use it, turn the fuel off and let it run until the float chamber is empty before parking it up, that way you will be filling the carb each time you turn the fuel on with stuff from the tank, which will be better than fuel that has sat in the carb for 2 months!

I suppose that could be a reason but none of my other bikes seem to have that problem with the same fuel?

Have to say it started not too badly with the new battery installed - the starter was whirring round at a great rate of (increased) knots! :mrgreen:

I think I would have been there for a week trying to kick start the bar steward!

having a tidy up in the workshop and I found a box full of parts I bought a few years ago
new 110cc riders cub cylinder and piston with rings
3 tooth smaller rear sprocket,i will need to check it might have been 2 teeth smaller,its still sealed up
lights hi lo switch and engine kill switch

18,000 kms - chain snapped last night... recovery van called for the 5 miles back home.. took 2 hrs to arrive..

lower chainguard bit of a mess... better that than my legs..

Was ok at last years service, nicely lubricated - and not too tight..

Common on the cubs for a snapped chain to destroy the sprocket cover. I reckon you were lucky Kev! :)
