The time has come to replace the battery, charger does not want to charge it up.

Battery is currently holding 11.2/11.2v so I assume it's basically goosed?

Any recommendations for the replacement battery?

This appears to be the cheapest on eBay:

Just hate it when that happens! Smart chargers deciding for you when your battery is kaput. My old fashioned charger died a couple of years ago after about 30 years during which time it "reconditioned" lots of car and bike batteries (might have killed a few too but overall saved me loads).

Had a couple of cheap batteries on the C90 which have worked OK for a while but last year I fitted a Motobatt MB5U, just over £30 but seems great. Depends on how often you use the bike and how long you are planning on keeping it really. Probably be fine with a cheapy if used regularly and or trickle charged. :D

I've dealt with these people before, battery still good after more than 3 years. The only gripe I had with them is no personal collection, which is a pain when they are less than a mile from me, so have to wait for it to come by courier. The reason they gave was "Health and Safety" regs as they don't have a dedicated retail counter to deal with collections, bloody stupid if you ask me!

Yeah I'm using the Aldi smart charger on it - just clicks and goes back to the voltage reading when you try to charge.

A mate of mine has an older style battery charger I could try, I guess...

The bike it only taken out on nice sunny days to be honest. The cheap Chinese unit has done well to survive 4 years in fairness.

Did you fit the YB5L-B to your Kayak?

Just checked the dimensions of my battery vs the Lextec:

Lextek Motorcycle Battery YB5L-B 120x60x130mm

Riders Motorcycle Battery XXXX-X 110x68x85mm

Suppose I should measure the cage dimensions rather than the battery?

This might be closer in size to the original Riders unit?
