my new bike

Post by fluffynat05 » Wed Jul 31, 2013 12:26 am

Sold my yamaha slide and got this.A Piaggio Zip SP. had been stood in the corner of a dealership for 8 years so its a 2005model but registered as new. I had reached the limits of tuning potential on the other scoot with its piston ported aircooled motor. This one is liquid cooled with crankcase induction. Happily runs at 47-50mph on level ground now hat its been derestriceted, highest speed I have seen is 54mph and surprisingly capable up hills. Very comfortable as well despite the tiny size and the nicest transmission of any cvt vehicle I have driven. Trailing arm front suspension, vespa style (and a little bit like a confused c90.)

Would upload pics but I have to mess about resizing them all due to image upload size constraints :(

Host them on a free photobucket account, and simply post the link! They pop up in posts, don't clutter our server, job's a good 'un! :D

Interesting tale on the bike BTW! :D

I'll bet it does less than 80 to the gallon.

you would be correct, 75mpg if driving economically, 61 when thrashed.

fitted a 70cc kit today, wheelies off the throttle, will pull up hills better than my cg used to and tops out between 55 and 60.still on the standard pipe too. may be a little more economical than the standard barrel being ridden sensibly as you can pretty much cruise at 40 on the pilot jet lol

Comfy for 250miles at a time also :)
