oh man that is one sexy bike! that and the brough superior SS100 are the best of british iron. that James is a vincent black shadow... the Suzuki Hyabusa of its day. the engine alone can go for insane money, the bike itself can be price of a nice flat in some parts of the country.

Yes indeed, that is pure royalty in the world of motorcycles...did you notice that the massive speedo goes up as far as 150? The Black Lightning was the uber-version of it....frightening performance for the ageCerberus73 wrote:......that James is a vincent black shadow... the Suzuki Hyabusa of its day......

Re: Vincent who?
vincent used a lot of things before anyone else, adjustable seat/pegs,steering angle to name a few
bit of info,
http://patentpending.blogs.com/patent_p ... otorc.html
i was lucky enough to ride one when i tested it, (i actually test two of these a year)
other bikes of the year may come near the top speed, but the vinny gets there better and way faster,
its was probably even further ahead in performance than the busa in its year,
there were various incarnations.
even a supercharged one

though they wasnt the 1st to supercharge an engine

Re: Vincent who?
I remember reading a test in an '80s magazine, where someone had a race from point A to point B, on real-life A & B roads, between a Vincent and some state of the art Japanese something or other of similar engine size.digger06 wrote:i was lucky enough to ride one when i tested it, (i actually test two of these a year)

The Vincent won.
