Re: Kawasaki
that's brilliant struggling to find them as the KLR600 is quite rare, think its needs a cam chain and a klr650 tensioner to sort it properly.
Aim is to reach 100.000 miles on it

Re: Kawasaki
Shims on KLR's, but check the state of the cams first as the heads are prone to running dry and turning to scrap.
One the 650's, the balance chain tensioner needs replacing, but on 600's, they are better made and should be ok.
If it starts easily, the valve clearances should be pretty close..

Re: Kawasaki
starts fine think the cam chain tensioner has gone as they are a common fault on them, think a 650 one fits straight in and is stronger
starts first press of the button haven't succeeded in kick starting it bloody hips no strength

Re: Kawasaki
All four of my old 600's were kick start (one of every colour), you soon know when you've got a good'un.
Most of the info on the internet is for the 650, but the 600 is pretty much identical.
