What's the likelihood of finding an NC50?

Post by TobyNinety » Mon Apr 29, 2013 2:22 pm

Missing my Cub after it was stolen, and have promised myself that if I have the cash in the near future I will get a small moped which I can take in the house with me. I was looking at Honda NC50s on ebay, and they were very far and few between and only one was roadworthy. If you knew where to look, what would you say the likelihood of finding a roadworthy one with MOT etc...? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you.

i sold one last year, in orange... bought it for 80... sold it for 300 a couple of weeks later... only having done minimal to it to get it running, new battery and points..

this what ya after? 28mph though and slows to 10 if your any size and going uphill... i only bought it for a laugh as i owned one at 16 for a few weeks till i replaced it with a AR50 with a 80 barrel.

i had a rusty orange v reg one last year and put a DR 70 cc kit on it from a shop in holland and the thing used to go off the clock very dodgy though as suspension is crap but i abused it for over 1000 miles without a breakdown,no good if easily embarassed though as you will get lots of attention and you could see kids jaws drop as i went past them and normally followed by pointing and pissing themselves laughing

Yeah I'm fine with it, just need something for going round town and to my girlfriend's place, only 4 miles...

Would probably upgrade it though, so that it could comfortably sit at 30, lol :D

What about a PC50? 4-stroke engine and very Cub-like character.

What about one of them bicycle engine kits from ebay http://item.mobileweb.ebay.co.uk/viewit ... 9766896702 they are not strictly legal but it is just another idea.

They are usually home made. back in the 50's American washing machines had small petrol engines (incredibly!) and those engines often ended up in little home made scooters like that...You'll notice it has a pull start....
