Your Advice Please
Lately I have been thinking about buying another bike. A 125/200/250 only problem is that all the 200/250's I have looked at tend to be nearly 30 years old. I keep pondering on the thought of a brand new CBF 125 cheaper to run, lighter, etc. What are your thoughts?
Thanks

Re: Your Advice Please
There have been some nice 200Benlys on ebay over the past few months. You can pick a good one up for £800.00 or so.I love mine it's an ace bike. About on par with an Innova for acceleration and top speed, with a little more torque for the headwinds and hills. The CD250u is also a really good bike and a bit faster than the 200's. Apart from these I'd go for a carb model CG125.

On riding my sons cbf 125 I was amazed how good it is, the motor is very powerfull for a 125 and torquey, its a comfy bike and feels bigger than it is (if you know what I mean), I could quite easily live with one as an all rounder. Saying that the cd benly are lovely bikes too, and good examples are still around. You dont fancy an MZ etz 250 by any chance??

Had a look on ebay earlier at cd200's is a good one on there but too old for me was after something that is 15 y/o or less. No thanks on the MZ looking for a 4 stroke not a a smelly 2stroke nice to hear of a positive note on the cbf125 still think I'm leaning towards that.

Re: Your Advice Please
theres shedloads of 400s available still, there cheap. and more modern than most of the 250s available, and seems you don't mind a bit of plastic bodywork if your thinking of a CBF 125.. to be honest there isnt gonna be a vast amount of mpg difference between a 125 thats running at near full pelt to sit at 65-70 than a 400 thats sat at the same but just cruising along at that. a baby blade is a nice bike but very technical if something goes wrong, VFR400 is nice, Various NC models so theres your honda lot, then theres the FZ400, GSXR400, ZXR400. these days they seem to have replaced the 250's. and get about the same mpg as the old 250s. if you like the naked look, get one with damaged plastics, whip them off, streetfighter it. the money saved buying one with a knackered fairing will offset the price of any parts you would want to give it a custom look. not only that they aint gonna be as big a tea-leaf magnet as a 125 will be. and physically there aint much diff in size. with added advantages of extra speed over the 125, and the ability to cover longer distances with less worries thats its sat pinned on the throttle.

Re: Your Advice Please
Had a fleet of CBF125's at work, lovely bikes! Cracking mpg, good power, comfy, and quite fun!
So much so I bought a daddy CBF600.. It's quite in keeping with the 125... just 10 times the weight....

i did me test on the CBF600... not a fan tbh, if i got one VERY cheap sure. but wouldn't be lusting after one. much the same as my GS500... i was looking for a CB500 or a GT550 but the GS was cheap, newly tested and in ok nick... so i took it. and already been offered more than i paid

Re: Your Advice Please
the 250 superdreams are pants tbh... heavy as a 400 (same frame etc as the 400 superdream) and cos of that not much quicker than a CB125 of the day, if it was a CB250RS the single cylinder one, there a lovely bike.
