Yep, genuine are about seven or eight quid, down side is you have to remove the sump to replace it as it screws on the inside of the pan and thus needing to purchase one maybe two (depending if your model has the sump extension plate) sump gaskets. On the plus side, you get to wash all the nasties out the sump if there are any, and look underneath and check out the size of that crank!

I found a filter for it in the consignment of old stock I bought from Orwells!

Is that right, sump has to come off? :shock:

I suppose it will be mice to see what state the bottom end is in.... (scared smiley....???)

I'm in the process of recovering the seat at the mo. Disected it, made some patterns, and all panels are cut out.... :D

I really don't know what to do with this bike. It was an absolute steal, it's taxed & MOT'd for a year, and it stands me in around £500.

I have a full set of GIVI luggage for it, but no hangars. Right one is £176 left is £140 or summat. No keys for the locks, which are £36 each and I need two.

It's a lovely, lovely bike, but I'm just aware if it goes wrong, it's going to cost wonga I don't have to spend. :(

Do I knock it on and take a nice fat profit, or do I take a chance on a 'Guzzi experience'?

On two occasions have serviced bikes in Spring that were laid up for the winter and found mice nesting in the airbox :lol: . Fortunately they weren't run prior to starting the service or it would have been very expensive. Dogsbody

Yes, you have to drop the sump to change the oil filter. Daft, I know.

You can buy all the Givi luggage you want, but you won't find a hanger. The only option for Calis are Hepco & Becker (pretty pics on their website but you have to buy from a dealer), or throwovers. Or make a rack to take Givi, if you are that way inclined!

I noticed you had some electrical issues. My Cali has Silent Hektik ignition pack on it, and it runs fine. They have a good parts service, too.

Okay, stuff that might help: The model you have is the same as mine. Sometimes it and its parts are listed not as Guzzi California, but as Guzzi 1100 California. It is a Cali III model.

Good parts dealers include Moto Mecca, Moto Corsa, Gutsibits and Twiggers. Do not touch anyone who has ever worked with Moto Ecosse... they were a pile of s***biscuits.

Many thanks GH! :D I've already found Gutsibits useful, parts arrived next day I think, very pleasant to deal with too.

Only had one go on it so far, can't wait for this weather to clear so I can get out and play again!

Joined the MotoGuzz GB club too to get the use of their forum. Mind you, seems to be plenty of help here too, I must say, I'm pleasantly surprised, or are we all closet Guzzi riders? :lol: :lol: :lol:
