Thats what I thought , my mate just bought the bike for the reg plate, he had to google it, and yep they are russian, had a look at it today, looks very much like a cz.

After trying and failing miserably to translate parts of the Russian book using a smartphone app, a chap in Australia told me there was an English workshop manual produced back in the day when they were imported here. A quick search turned one up in a 2nd hand bookshop in Wakefield!
