2018 Royal Enfield Classic 500 Chrome efi £3795 SOLD

Post by knapdog » Wed Jul 19, 2023 6:58 am

As I rarely use it I've put my cherished Enfield on ebay for someone else to enjoy and free up some space in the garage.
It's immaculate.
I've got it up with a Starting Price of £1994 and last night had a first bid. I also have a Buy it Now price of £3795.
A month or so ago I put it up for £4395 and I had offers of £3800, £3900 and £4000. Being greedy I said I'd meet at half way (actually £4075) but he declined and I lost the sale completely. Lesson learned.
It will now sell to the highest bidder as there's no Reserve, though hopefully the lowered Buy it Now price will be tempting enough for it to sell outright.

Outstanding! 8-) It's a peach of an Enfield, for sure.

I guess that you're into the price range of a brand new 350 Classic, with all the warranties etc. which might affect bids up near your buy-it-now.

Good luck with it.

Thank you, cap'n.
The 350 would be more like £4500 and at the end of the day it's not a Classic 500, which you can't buy new anymore, thus there'll always be someone looking for a fine example.
I very, very nearly took your previous advice to have a Starting Price of 99p...., but I didn't have the b4lls.

I haven't sold on ebay in a while. The algorithms may be different now.

The massive positive of starting at 99p was that you would get lots of bids, the ebay algorithms would pick that up, and it would come up on feeds as a popular item.

So, by the time it reached £2000, hundreds maybe thousands more people would have seen it, and it would probably have bids in the high teens. That generally meant that one or two of the bidders set their heart on it, and bid over their own self imposed limit, competing with each other.

Jeez, I just saw, "Suffolk," and thought that Newtsalad had bought it.

That said, I wouldn't have been surprised.
