FOUND / Recovered Cub in Tottenham

Saw that flash of Cub colour whilst out picking some mushrooms.
Couldn't bear to leave the poor thing where it was and ended up dragging it a couple miles home.

Registration plate has been removed so I've only got the frame and engine numbers to go on.

Contacted the police who said they'd be round in an hour (at 5pm) then called me up asking which one me door was at 1am!!
Haven't heard off them since.

Any advice about what to do in this kind of situation would be most gratefully received.
Apply for a logbook and see if that alerts the owner?
I'd be happy of course to recover it myself, though I don't really need another project at the mo.

Mushrooms in Tottenham? I used to live there and am not very far away now (Finsbury Park).
Shame someone has lost their Cub, but I have no idea who it might be.

Mushrooms will inherit the earth - yes, they pop up just about everywhere if you look.
Sometimes the locations aren't too palatable round here though, it must be admitted.
Some are though!

Anyway, what would you do if you'd found a bike like that? Any ideas?

I suppose I'd do what you're doing, posting it on every mediam you can.
Where exactly did you find it?

Tottenham marshes. Higham hill side. Buried in a dog rose bush under some willows.

Anyone know how to reverse search for a reg. using the frame or engine no.?

I think I could cover that, thinking about it. Either I ask the owner of they'd cover my expense once I find them, or it's a first expenditure toward fixing the bike up... Thoughts?

Could you try asking one of the "Legal Questions" Facebook groups where you stand in law. If you spend the £25 and identify the owner, can you charge them for recovery and storage?
