Err, I mislaid one a couple of days ago. If you could re register it for me, re-tax it and courier it up to me for the £25.00 fee you mentioned I would be eternally grateful.

Re: FOUND / Recovered Cub in Tottenham
I don't know if the law is still the same as it was in the 1980s but i found a dumped honda 250 engine. I took it the cop shop they kept it for 3 months i think. It was unclaimed after 3 months so i became the legal owner and collected it (seized top end by the way).
I would have thought the police would have run the frame number through the PNC and got in touch with the last owner !

Thanks mate.
So, how do I go about this reverse check from the frame no.? Even if it sets me back £25
Ideally I'll manage to hear off the met police whether they've already performed this check, of course!

i think the rule remains the same. Hold on to it for a period of time, after which you can keep it.
My Dad has a ridiculously beautiful mountain bike with all the fancy parts that became his after it was dumped in the lane behind the house and never claimed. He rides it to the pub.

Re: FOUND / Recovered Cub in Tottenham
here's a little update:
just noticed that the bike has a sticker for "CAROLE NASH DNA +"
anyone know how to trace a bike with this?
funnily enough I gave Carole a call, but she didn't have a clue, hehe.

That DNA thing seems to be the same as an alarm, it's only as good as whoever takes any notice of it.

The problem in this case is You need to ask the owner where he painted the DNA spots on to read them.
Some people just put the sticker on and don't even bother with the paint/goo.
