Does the extra protrusion into the combustion chamber make the compression reading higher as its reducing the compression area and therefore increasing the compression ratio

When i screwed it into the CG head the extension sat about flush with the threads when screwed in, All i can think of is that the CG spark plugs have a longer reach thread, So they made this shorter and the 10mm extension compensates.
