Newbie C90 - need a box!!
Hi everyone
I just recently bought an '88 C90 for £400. I'm 18 and it's like someone's got me a pair of wings - such a great machine, i find myself saying "hmmm maybe i'll just go to the shops and see what they've got". I have one problem though, i need a box to put tools, WD40 (great stuff as well :p) waterproofs etc in, does anyone know of a way to make a good makeshift one, or somewhere i can get one for less than thirty odd quid as i'm a bit skint.
If anyone has a good one for sale that would also be great my bike has a metal rack on the back so im assuming it would have some brackets and fit on to that.
Will

Will, your a breath of fresh air
Skint is good. It means you'll do stuff for yourself. No need to get some crap from Halfolds, look to adapting something, keep an eye on the skips and what folk chuck out. Some Car boots are OK.
Can you do any carpentry Will?
The way you describe it, that's just what it's like remember that feeling. Priceless.wilchatron wrote: I'm 18 and it's like someone's got me a pair of wings -

If you've got a shed or garage it's better to have them hanging on the wall.
Screw a wooden board to the wall and then hooks where ever you need them

Don't rule out panniers either! Some good waterproof cycling ones about, keep an eye on Lidl!

As long as you have the rack to put it on, almost anything can be modded for use. Those big fishing tackle boxes are a favourite of some. Look at used rickman and lintek type boxes on the bay- sometimes scruffy ones turn up quite cheaply!

Box on my red bike was made out of a old skilsaw box... trimmed out the moulded bit inside for fitting the saw into... mounted on rack with cable ties, and drilled drainage holes... does the job but i really want a pair of rickman boxes and racks with the pannier stays. but it was cheap!

How about this? good for shopping , it folds down and has removable wheels. All for £20, could be attached to rack using bungees I guess.
