It's pretty much on http://www.biker.ie for events over here in Ireland. It was to raise funds for the Dublin Rape Crises Centre.Glenn wrote:Hi Turbo diesel, i would love to buy another cub and do a charity race.

It looks like the one in Mondello Park was the original back in 2009 but some lads have been running another 3-4 meetings at go - kart tracks. the most recent one was to raise funds for a motocross club.
At a guess you might get some info from the mini moto or pit bike clubs over your side but generally i'd say trawl the bike sites or throw up a few posts maybe on therevcounter or visordown or Motorcyclenews or any other bikes sites. Also try posting in the bikes for sale section of the likes of gumtree.com or other free classified sites.
See below for features and youtube videos. The start is great laugh. A le Mans start with about 50 lads running over to jump on their Cubs and Town Mates.

Not that i know of glenn,Glenn wrote:Hi TD,

It's really a case of trawling the sites or maybe even organising your own one.
Maybe if you got onto the ACU or other sport governing bodies or clubs they might be able to throw some light on it.

Re: '00 C90 Racer
Time for an update:
Well no Mcwilliams or Mamola (both rumoured to have been taking part) but we did have two bridgestone teams with Scott Redding and Josh Elliott on one bike and Ryan Farqhuar and a few others on another.
Had a ball this first time entered and have already booked and paid for my entry next year.
Loads photos/vids.

You actually learn a lot about keeping the momentum of a 6hp (I think thats what a C90 makes) bike motoring at max speed.
I started of with laps of 1 min 43 and then getting down to 1.40 quite quickly. Next sesssion i was running 1. 37's and the final session 1.35's with a best of 1.34. Now I'm easily 17 stone with leathers etc and 6ft 4 and the bike is 100% bog standard so was well chuffed with the way i progressed. Scott reddings best time was 1.24 and their bike was modified and prep'd by a moto GP Mechanic. (At a glance on the outside you can see rearset footrests for better ground clearance/modified exhaust/decent shocks). The three other lads on my team were all similiar build and we were doing 10 - 15 laps handovers and had 2 crashes aswell. Two of them hadn't seen the outside of a race track never mind the inside and we managed to finish 19th out of 40 finishing teams. Next year I'd like to be pushing 1.32's and aim for a finish of maybe 17th but seen as i know two of my next years team will have even less experience than this years that will be a hard push.
But seriously lads, if you get a chance it's the bestest/cheapest/safest form of motorsport you could have a go at and you'll have a ball cracked up laughing at the le man start, slipstreaming behind other cubs, keystone kops type crashes, etc etc.....
I'm not entered for the walesevent on April 1st but here's some link's for any of you that fancy a go.
