Thank you for all the handy information! I am actually out of work at the moment, so, I will have to wait on fixing the rest of it up.

Hmm, check this out-

The pic claims to be taken in the UK, and is supposed to be a 1981 c90 super cub, with a very similar large toolbox cover to my bike. Hopefully I can order a UK model 1981 c90 cover for my battery?

Also, this guy has a lot of cool custom super cubs in his favorites thread, such as these

Ah! I had a moment where I was actually thinking, and decided to try the side cover off of my girlfriend's recently purchased 1983 c70 passport. It fits very well. Now I know what I can order.

Yep. UK - spec C90 had those covers from 1977 to 1983 (C90Z2 and C90ZZ)
Nothing US-spec ever used that shape, but as you have found, the other shapes fit perfectly well.

PS.. That faves stream is mine. ;)

What a small world!

I am on flickr, too, but I don't have much in the way of favorites.

Oh, poo.

The side cover arrived, and it does not fit.

If you needed a side cover for your ZZ, where would you get it? I can't find anyone supplying those online... it would be awesome to get the exact right part with the emblem and shape matching.

I notice, looking at page one of this thread, you have the electric start 12 volt battery and carrier.
The original C90Z2/ZZ shape cover won't fit over this battery.
For a right hand side cover to fit over that big electric start 12v battery you will need one from a 12 volt C70 Passport (looks like that's where he got the battery & holder from).
Nothing else will fit over.. not even one matching the other side (which would be hard to find in the US anyway)

You need a 12v electric start battery cover. (late - 82/83- C70 Passport will do) It won't match the left side and you may have to make a new hole to line the fixing bolt up with the 6 volt frame.
