Hey all, new hear been snooping away at various posts for info this week so thought I'd introduce and say hi.
I'm Scott and based near Sheffield, just bought my first road legal Cub90, yay :D
Known as plags locally, as a youth these were always a safe bet, and compqred to todays prices bloody cheap.
Have rode them with no brakes, no gear selector, no kick start sometimes a mix of all above, some of the mishaps and fun we had on these in my earlier days reminds me these were almost indestructable but always got us home, they were always battered and stripped down field bikes.
Back then tuning was filing the ports, changing the jets in carb, putting a cut down beetle pipe which while deafening the locals would back fire and spit flames, but back then the louder it.was the faster it felt.
Anyway as responsible adults now, me and some of the lads have just done our Cbts, we go idle of man every other year and committed to all getting bikes this year and out of 8, 6 of us came through.
I've only just got the bike, all in all its not a bad machine, its tested, and pretty much standard. Nice and quiet, not too tatty,
I'm fairly handy with spanners and have most tools excluding specialist items that might be needed for this for these bikes.
Few items I need to address but overall I'm like a pig in shit and feel 15 again

Anyway look forward to poaching from your experience

Hi Scott, you’ve bought the best bike you can as Sheffield is central to the plagy world , loads to do around the Peaks and look out for the Matlock meet in July . I’m local to you so happy to help if you need anything , cheers Ian .

Thanks Ian,
Your names ringing a bell, ever shop at Howdens Attercliffe?
If so you'll prob know who I am ;)
I'll likely pull on advice like what products to avoid as there's so many directions to head with these and part available.
Also I don't want to have the slowest plag at this years TT, obviously a priority that every newbie starts with 🤣
