Definitely an A. The title has it as a 1968, so a manufacturing date in 1967 isn't too crazy of an idea.

Hi, if you look at Boo`s guide here viewtopic.php?f=11&t=1098 you can get an idea of the timeline . Yours looks to have been sat a while after the CM finished in 67, but a rare beast.

I was hoping to deck her out with signal lights and possibly a brake light, to make her a bit more traffic friendly but it would be a real shame to mod a classic.

Maybe I can find some removable options that wouldn't require permanent modifications. Clamp on lights and switches maybe? Other drivers have gotten a little lazy and I'm afraid just driving with hand signals would probably get me turned into a speed bump

It should have a brake light operated from the rear brake pedal but no front switch. The bulb in the rear light should have 2 filaments ;)

Oh snap! I hadn't really looked. The tail light lights up and I checked to see if it brightened up when I hit the brake but nothing really happened so I assumed it was just a marker light back there.

I've been so busy working on my old TaoTao and since the battery for the Honda is being shipped I haven't messed with it.

I kinda wonder if the 12v battery didn't melt down the 6v dual filament bulb or something.

I'm a moron... I just double checked the battery. Even though the previous owner said he put in a 12v it was in fact a 6.

I checked the brake light switch too. It's bad so the light I was seeing was actually the brake light... 🤦🏻 Got a new one on the way.

I still have some other odds and ends to iron out before it's really road worthy. The throttle is sticking and I think it's the cable. Also, the transmission jams into gear awful hard. Hard enough to make me really flinch every time I shift. Going from third to second almost throws me over the handlebars 😅

It might need the clutch adjusting.Try putting it into first,but hold the gear lever down as you do it.Then increase the engine revs a little.If it tries to move it’s definitely a clutch problem.

Yes, always clutch adjustment first.
Just adding to what JohnS said.
You need to make sure clutch plates are disengaging. As said... ticking over, select 1st gear and hold pedal down, keep pressure on pedal.. don't release..... increase engine revs and bike should stay still.
LET ENGINE DIE BACK TO IDLE BEFORE RELEASING PEDAL!!!
If it creeps forward or drives.... them there is a problem with the clutch.
If clutch fine then.... are you selecting gears properly??? Are you new to semi - auto gearboxs.

To change from 3rd down to 2nd.... then a slight pause, select 2nd then a bit of a rev just before releasing pedal to engage gear. If almost throwing you over the handlebars, then must be quite violent almost locking up the rear wheel.

As said apologies if you're a seasoned rider.

No offense taken! I am pretty new to the semi-auto transmission. I haven't used one since I was a kid and I'm pretty sure I wasn't doing it right then either. I also have a sneaking suspicion I'm down shifting into 1st, not second now that I'm looking at the shift pattern for the CM vs the CT... I have some studying to do
