C90 cub fuel tank

Post by Gandy119 » Sat Nov 19, 2022 12:30 am

Hi All,

I'm building a c90 cub plop race bike from scratch with no VIN. I'm looking at old fuel tanks and I'm not finding anything which looks half decent, normally full of rust and corrosion. Does anyone build new tanks alloy preferably.

I had this same problem building my RD350ypvs and given the popularity of both these bike these days I'm shocked I can't find someone making new.

I know you can line older tanks I've been there and it doesn't last and I just don't trust it.

Thanks

Which model C90 are you building ? 6 volt or 12 volt ? If you stick it in your details it could help. Along with a location ;)

Just to let you know...... a riders super Cub (Yeovil) tank bolts in with just a tiny bit of fettling. I've fitted one to a 1996 Honda C90 Cub, so it'll fit all the 12v sq. h.lt models.
So maybe another option for you if you can find one of these?
The tank came off a 2006 riders Cub 110cc (107) model.
Cheers Andy.

Just to add to my last post,
If you get a 'riders' tank, make sure to get the petrol cap aswell. The Honda ones don't fit! The riders has a larger diameter filler hole!

Make sure the tank is the same internal sizes as the 12v c90 as we now check them for size with a dip stick during scrutineering.

Good call that. I've done the dip test on my C90, Riders and Zeths Kayak tanks and reckon the Riders is slightly less capacity than a C90. Worst is the Kayak with less than 3 litres. :D

There’s quite a good c90 following/plop racers on the Isle of Man, can no one help you out with one local to you ?

Well done Alan, thanks for waking me up, I'm glad you're on the ball, didn't think about different capacities!!
Was jus trying to suggest alternatives,
Cheers Andy.
