A good start is to look on Boo's Cub Spotters Guide which states 1967-1977 6V (89cc)

Someone with greater knowledge may be able to pin it down further. :D

Below is a copy of a previous post i made which may help
It was created to work out roughly what age a later engine was if i remember correctly.
by removing 11450 4 times you end up with 142940
So around 1970 would be an educated guess.
According to Glass's 1963 to 1972 check book the CE90 was first sold in UK in September 1967 with Engine number C90E-106535
So going back removing 11450 a year we end up at 108590 so not to far off the mark i think :)

I'm not aware of any official listings but a bit of playing with numbers from Known frame numbers has been done in a previous thread.

I have 2 6 Volt C90s
1 is registered March 1974 with engine number C90E-18874* (last number disguised)
2 is registered March 1975 with engine number C90E-20017* (last number disguised)

Assuming yearly sales are constant using frame numbers from a previous thread a value of approx 11450 units a year.

So by March 1976 they were around 211620
March 1977 around 223070
March 1978 around 234520

Obviously only a ball park figure speculation using assumed sales volumes and the supply chain being identical each year.

C90E 18---- was 1973 ,

1968~70 C90E-120001~(first engine number) and frame numbers C90-B031158~B049127

Most of the engine parts are the same from 68 onwards only changes to the gear pattern later on almost into the 80s.
