Thanks for the welcome guys and manual link 👍
If you fancy a ride and a chat with c90club forum folks this weekend, ride on down to this. It's the first official C90club event for 3 years.

Thank you yes I’ll be up for that, need to get some road tax and mot yet and make sure the bike can do more than a one mile round trip first without breaking down, its been 100% fine so far apart from a back fire on over run and a small amount of clutch slip, I’ve changed the exhaust gasket and found a small amount of the outlet flange had broken off, it hadn’t run for over 30 years so just want to try and get it right first I guess :D
The exhaust flange isn’t broken, they are all like that, but I know it looks as if it is.
Oh ok, thanks for letting me know, I could have sworn a piece had broken off :D :D

Andy, round headlight, haven’t checked to see if it has points yet, I think it will have
If it's a C90C (which would be right for 1983) it will be 12v CDI ignition. TBH favoured by many as has the round lamp looks and the "sophistication" of the later bikes. :D

Not everyone is riding to Hampshire, some of us cheat with vans and trailers etc.
Yes I’ve checked and your 100 % correct it does have the cdi unit and it’s the C90c

And yes I think the ride would take way to long from Suffolk

do people meet up and ride in convoy for these meets?

I do sometimes but most often travel solo as I can set my own time line. I would have gone to Softies but still 600km in wrong direction.

Hoping to be back for Geoffs Blackpool illumination tour if it goes ahead

Some do but the routes take careful planning to keep away from fast roads. I have in the past but resolved not to camp in any tent that can be carried on a Cub, it's mainly an age thing.

In a normal year there are 3 official rides, the East Anglian, Matlock and the Southern Softies (which is this weekend). Covid put paid to these.

Hopefully we will have an East Anglian next year which would be ideal for you. Worth keeping an eye on local rides too, you never know what may come up.
