Yes, I tend to think the same regarding the patina. I like to keep my bikes quite original but I do like to tidy nasty bits.
The only thing I might do, would be the bottoms of the forks with some suitably matched paint??
Entirely up to you though. She or he, looks Gorgeous anyway.... very nice!

Thank you, I’ll have to keep my eye out for some original mirrors. I imagine they will be difficult to source.
