Haha,

I was just reading through the posts when I saw the girl sitting at the top of the stairs. I thought 'I'm sure that's the Z50MR I built.... :? ' Oh, its so nice to be back on a proper forum. When I can sort some picture hosting, I'll show you some pictures of mine over the years. Currently on with a '76 Chaly and updating my old trusty '72 GT Dax tourer.

Hi everyone,

I thought I ought to say a quick hello now I've posted up already on another thread. I'm new to the C90 Forum but I've been a visitor in the past and thought it was time to join up officially. My current bikes are a Honda ST70 (115cc) and its stable mate the CF70 (soon to be a 119cc). It all started back in 1993 when I bought a C90E as a work bike for £350. Loved it - even when it began to fall apart. I bought 3 more off eBay and used them as a parts source to keep mine running. I fell off it twice at least. In its time I had the usual jobs to do like replace the front bushes and have it over bored due to running the top end short of oil. The welding and patching up behind the back wheel, enduro brush guards to keep the wind chill of my gloves in winter, Knobbly rear tyre to go green lane exploring, a fork and spade strapped to each side to go to the allotment - you know what I mean

So the move to the Monkey's was only down to the engine shape. I'd seen a 'T' bone type frame hung up in the garage of the guy who used to service my engine back in the 90's. I knew what it was because Tamiya used to do a scale model of the ST70 when I was a kid. Long story short, I bought what was 3 quarters of a 1972 ST70 for £80 in 1999 and by August 2002 I had a complete MOT'd bike. I was bitten and so many of the parts were transferrable. The Cub 90 finally died in 2003 when she broke her back and I had to let her go. That was the point where the ST70 became 86cc as I used the Cubs 12v shortened loom and electrics to update the bike from points to CDi.

Since then I've been active in the Monkeybike scene along with SteveST100 and Morph (and probably more of you guys I haven't seen in ages) and ended up being a moderator with Steve and Chris on the old MonkeyRun forum between 2002 and 2012. I've built, re-build and scratch built many bikes along the way. I've had a break for a few years with both my current bikes being on SORN but I'm slowly getting them ready for running again. The excitement is still there and if you'll have me, I'd love to ride out with you guys at some stage. I used to organise a ride called the 'Clumber Run' which was around North Notts and North Derbys. That route could easily be updated and was a nice laid back ride. With Steve again, I've done the John O'Groats to LE (2006) and the 'Round Ireland Rim Run' (2007) aswell as a few locally planned rides up to Edinburgh and back. I've got thousands of photos over the years which I'll try to get hosted soon.

Sorry - I've gone on a bit

That was such a good weekend - even though the rain eventually got us coming home. I'm grinning big time. :D
