There's a weather warning out for heavy snow starting at 18:00 and there's gonna be drifts building up too as the wind kicks in.

Let us know when he's home safe.

+1 yeah could be coming?

Well Done Lads!!! I'm glad you both made it safely. Riding thru the night in this weather must have been totally Baltic and has given a difficult enough journey in mere daytime a new dimension.

It's been a gripping story, you've both definately earned your turkey & sherry this Christmas. :D

Sounds like you both had to do a little roadside maintenance en-route...

Thanks also Bob for relaying the info!!!

I look forwards to seeing the stats & photos.. :ugeek:

many thanks to all for the best wishes, its been a most memorable experience and the support has helped immensly. Special thanks to Bob for enabling us to share the experience, which I hasten to add is far from over.
Laying in bed in Helston watching telly at the mo and I am more daunted at the prospect of the 'mere' 360 mile ride home today than I was setting out Wednesday. The Conti's served me well, right now I wish I had the knobblies on Git.
I haven't felt trepidation like this since I was diving, not so sure I miss that feeling now!
Anyway, I shall set out about 10 to 10.30 see how it goes and be prepared to lay up if necessary. If I make Reading I can stay at Su's brothers overnight.
Oh well, upwards and onwards, in those immortal words, 'I may be some time...'

Congrats Gents, a stunning achievement, especially given the weather...

What was the start to finish time all told ??? anyone know???

It's got to be a record?

Massive respect,
Shane.

Amazing achievement from Nutter and ..er.. Nutter! ;)
Great reading through this whole thread just now, knowing the outcome but feeling the suspense all the more for that.
Well done chaps!

Nutter has broken down just south of Bristol, they believe it is a holed piston, he's waiting for the RAC.

Newt is currently at St Albans on the M25, he's making a dash for home! I drove back from Nottingham today, and just got in! The roads are horrendous here, i fell over just getting out of the car!!

Makes me want to venture out on me cub though :P
