Tomorrow (4th Oct) we'll be at the Hythe about 1.30-2, Les on the PCX, I'll have the Navi, not sure of the others. If there are a few of us we'll be parked in front of the Thames barges especially if it's busy. If not then we go to the very end of the road and park near the sand pit opposite the Lakeside kiosk so we can get coffee and the bikes are in sight.

Heston services, yep remember it well, used to love riding back through London at midnight, I would turn into my street and then kill the engine and freewheel all the way to our front garden, ( allspeeds on a 350lc ) was a bit noisy, then upstairs lay in bed with my ears ringing.

Great to meet up, pity Les didn't make it or Pete on His Zontes 310M, he's befuddled by all the electronics and had no user manual. I had a great ride, went home and found the manual online, printed it out then dropped it off, an excuse for another 12 miles and a good test of the headlamp, which is good. :D

That brings back some memories. I used to frequent Chelsea Bridge during the mid 1960s up until mid 70s. We used to do the Heston services run back then too. A bunch of us got banned from there once for having a codom water bomb fight and upsetting the other c ustomers. Not banned for long though as we were back again a couple of weeks later doing it again. Proper little 'oooligans. We used to travel to many places around greater London in convoy with a couple holding up the traffic at intersections until we were all through irrespective of the traffic lights. Hey ho.
