It's good to get feedback for our proposed ride and especially from folk who have the T shirt - many thanks Jules. Yes, more smiles per gallon for us too - hedonism rules! Things have moved on a pace and the trip to pickup the bikes was changed to using a local courier instead - it didn't really fit in with our busy lives now we've retired! Bikes should be here next week for us to play with. I'll post some pics of the pair when they turn a wheel in Orkney. I was also fortunate to grab a set of classic Haggerty Remp luggage and modifiable rack via the SOHC/4 forum and we will probably share those - one bike with the top box and t'other with one or both of the panniers. They are quite substantial (read heavy) but can't be as bad as a passenger and C90's have coped with those before! They will also do me for my 400/4 if I fancy a long trip.
Doug now as his new helmet and we will have a go with my Interphone bike F4s to bike setup - always been brilliant when I've been on tour in the past - about half a mile coverage and crystal clear even at high speed - don't think that will figure on this trip!

That’s very impressive, it took me 11 years to put 182,000 miles on my Enfield.

It’s always commuting that does it so I won’t ever be repeating that kind of mileage again.
