How's the tour going and whereabouts are you now then? I'm hoping that you didn't get washed away in the recent deluge we had? How far are you getting on a tank of petrol fully loaded then? Lots of questions, maybe I should just wait for the book and video to come out :D Nick.

So...we only managed 650 miles out of the 1,200 planed due to my bike failing, but we still had a blast anyway :)

We left Reigate on Friday the 14th of July and headed for our first nights stop which was just down the road from the David Silver Museum, the campsite was full of idiots playing music till 2am  so didn't get a great nights sleep :x

Saturday, first stop was the David Silver Museum :D, he was very interested in our bikes and took some photos...said he would put them on his Website :!: , for the rest of the day we followed the cost all the way up to Wimbourne, even managed to find a few green lanes :P, the campsite that night was stunning and Adults only which was a bonus...didnt have to sleep with my ear plugs in

Sunday morning, we left Wimbourne and headed for Boston, this day saw yet more pretty little villages, the campsite this night was right on the A17, which again ment I had to sleep with my ear plugs in.

Monday morning was when I noticed the strange knocking noise at low rev's, I knew at that point it could be terminal, anyway with glorious sunshine we decided to head for the peak district, as we started to climb up the hills I noticed the grumble getting worse, the engine sounded okay if it wasn't being Laboured or if I kept it under 40mph, but buy the time we got to the campsite it was clear that the noise was terminal, with the oil drained I could see brass coloured metal shavings so new it must be the big end :( , me and Chris then decided to head home, and see how far I get before calling the recovery...well it sounds like a brick in a dryer, over 25mph but it got me home all 190 miles, the plan was then to get the innova ready and head out today, but we have now decided not to bother

So all in all it was a good little adventure, but sadly cut short.

:( That's a shame. It looked like a great tour in all.

Yesterday I drove to Hove, to get the 10mm fine bolts I needed to fit the screen, got the screen on and wired in the satnav ( noticed how easy Innova's are to steel if you dont put the steering lock on, a two wire ignition  ) loaded the bike up then realised without some form of panniers there's not enough room for me and all the camping gear on the seat as I sit quite far back  now I could of ridden it but I would have seriously uncomfortable.
