I haven't been fishing for ages, the last time being when I was in Americe. My sister would deposit me by a lake on the way to work then pick me up on the way home. :D
I took my rod and gear with me (again, as I did last time) but didn't get the chance. It would have been nice to fry up a freshly caught supper back at the campsite. :D :(

Ah, I should have made it clear, I'm not to keen on freshwater fish to eat. Mind you, saying that, gudgeon on toast are quite nice. Mackerel are my favourite.
I caught a nice catfish when I was visiting my sister but she wouldn't let me kill it for the pan. She won't eat, or allow to be eaten (she had a small python once and bred the mice to feed to it. She would then take the mice to the pet shop and swap them for mice that she didn't know) animals she has met when alive.

When I moved into this place back in 1993 I bought 3 piglets to clear the ground.

6 months later they tasted very nice.

Crack(L)ing.

I have just worked out that I did 442 miles over the week + there and back and that my holiday cost me on average 50p per mile. That includes fuel, food, ferry and campsite fees. :D

I didn't look. I filled up every time just up the road from the campsite.

allowing 80 miles each to the IoW that means you must have done around 280 miles around the island, I didn't know they had that much road there.

My sat nav took me a quite nice route to start with all quiet windy country lanes then back onto a3 to south circular then a2 was bit disappointed it took me back on a3 was really enjoying just plodding along the lanes thru quiet little villages
