Re: Four old Fogeys "End to End"
I always work on an average of 30mph rolling speed.
Seems to work for both the Cub and the Diesel Enfield when I'm not on the motorways.
Be careful when planning a multi-stop camping trip, it takes time to get assembled each morning and you need to plan getting into the campsite before the office closes.
On the road by 9:00 means 7am wake up call, shower, poo, breakfast and loading up will take 2 hours for the team - even if one can do it in 10 minutes flat.
Fuel stops grow exponentially in time with the number of bikes filling up.
As the days go by fatigue will build up and someone will suffer a sense of humour malfunction.
Drinking is very important through the day - keep up fluids intake.
Here's a little planning sample from Barmouth - didn't happen exactly this way in the end but was close:
It may seem a little anal but you at least know your plans will work in reality and you have not done owt stupid that's not possible.

Your input is always appreciated DD.Diesel Dave wrote:

Regarding the poo arrangements two of the four will be letting go in the saddle and the fox has paper pants.
(Someone's wound me up today. I'm like a coiled spring)

One week to go.
Many of you have been extremely generous and we've surpassed our total of £500. The figure now stands at £680 and we're "gunning for a grand" for the little 'uns!
If any of you are twiddling the price of a pint in your pockets, don't spend it on the beer. Have another think about donating:

Re: Four old Fogeys "End to End"
Slight set back today. The fox's wife had a nasty fall and broke her wrist, banged her head and knee. After three hours in hospital being "mended" she's back home.
The devoted fox (serious folks) has some decision to make in the next few days as to whether he'll be able to make the trip.
Myself, billyfix and libby have told him that family comes first. We'll have to wait and see.

Contributions now over £1000.
Day 1 was memorable. We met a 66 year old belly dancer, a farmer from the Mendips with 16000 sheep, a pastor from California, three posh fishermen, three mad Scottish ladies, a partridge in a pear tree , a haggis panini and salmon leaping at the Falls of Shin.
Brilliant.
