Thanks for your kind comments. We will support you any way we can on your future trip. Before long we shall need to think of something for next year ourselves.Extreme Steve wrote:I will be looking to see how you get on! I myself next year aim to do all 4 points. Re: Four old Fogeys "End to End"
I have woken early this morning and turned my phone on for a quick glimpse and catch up on the club (since I had an early night) to discover that our target has been reached.
Buzz, that is brilliant. We thank you for your generosity!
In total, club members have contributed nearly 20% of the donations which is testimony to the thoughtfulness of the members of this fine club. To all those who have contributed, we are indebted.
Billyfix, libby and the fox are also passing around the traditional donation forms and these donations have not yet been factored into the total, which could be close to the £1000.
We shall keep you informed. Two weeks to go!
This is going to be a sunny day regardless of the weather!

Re: Four old Fogeys "End to End"
Morning all, not sure how you are mapping your route? Just a note I will be using a garmin edge 810 (cycling) the reason it is very small and light, and you can load the route to it, also saves the route you do. You may know all this already if so sorry.
There is a charger that will wire straight into the cub battery, £24 Amazon.
I'm not sure if 6 days is enough time. 2140 miles give or take, avoiding motor ways, 355 miles a day!
I did sheerness to Newquay a few years ago on a Honda 125 twin and that hurt 11 hours 350 miles. So what's your estimated time / days?
Fuel wise I'm not sure weather to try an find a 1/2 gallon can or take a full 1 gallon?
I do remember a guy who went round the world on a c90 so I will be getting his book just for tips. It's only 6 days but planning small things could make a big difference.
I've not got the bike yet, looking at September this year stripping it down over winter and then some test rides to see how the avg mileage works out, which is when you have finished I will be looking through your trip.
Steve
