Re: What's the most useful item you have taken on a trip.
Hi
Having just completed a trip from St Malo to Bilbao I found these to be the most useful items:
1. Fence wire (used to wrap around an exhaust and head/barrel when an exhaust stud sheared
2. Jubilee Clips, you can buy really long ones and cut them down to length (these were also used to fasten the exhaust to the foot peg)
3. Universal Cable kit, comes with various nipples etc (saved the day when a brand new throttle cable snapped in the Pyrenees)
4. Variety of nuts and bolts to replace the ones that vibrate loose.
5. Oil, I used about a ltr in an engine that doesn't normally burn any. It s back to normal now.
One bike had those fancy chinese aluminium wheels fitted, they didn't last snapping spokes twice over the journey.
Would definitely recommend the trip, great fun!

Stainless steel zip ties - the ones that are usually used to secure CV boots on cars - wear your gloves when fitting.
