Have yet to look at ferry fares. Best outward route for me so far is Holyhead - Dublin. Nothing is set in stone yet though apart from me definately going, gods willing. I will have a look at ferry fares in the next week or so. One thing though, Ireland has some cracking bimbling roads and the place is splendid even in the rain.
