back where she belongs
got the bike back from mot today she passed no problems on the way back it wasnt pulling right in top gear checked the timing with a home made strobe light it was out a little bit when the bottom shaft was in the firing position the points were not shut right so the bulb didnt light up so fixed it now its going like a bomb so took it out a 50 mile run to blow the cobwebs of the engine now she is back where she belongs on the road after 24 years in a shed

Re: back where she belongs
My bike has cdi so no probs with points,if i did have a bike with points i would probably set them using a dwell angle meter.Years ago i used to tune all my own cars and i found it was the most accurate method for setting the gap.
