103 mile bimble today and wanting more.

Post by jerrydevon » Sat May 15, 2010 9:32 pm

Whizzed out on the bike today (in training for Rhayader which is 216 miles one way) and loved every minute. I could have turned around and gone again! The bike ran beautifully on its longest ever trip. From Northam to Barnstaple, Tiverton, Exeter (Where I bought a box to put on my rear rack in Makro), then back through Crediton, Winkleigh, Torrington, Bideford and back to Northam. Fantastic!!
Whilst on the journey, I was thinking about a name for my bike (I think it's a compulsory requirement as a C90 Club member :D ) and came up with 'Buzz 3 Gear'! What do you think? ;) or am I just daft

Great name, its a keeper!, By the way, I recognise many of the places you mention, my Mum used to live in Torrington, then Georgham, Appledore and now West Yelland , all pretty close to Barnstaple, Id love to ride around there but my Mum doesnt know I have a motorbike, she'd have a fit ( 40 and still lying to me mum!)

Although I didn't use one yesterday, I have listened to my Ipod whilst riding. It does break up the constant engine noise and I quite enjoy it. I have the noise cancelling silicone in ear headphones and even if the music isn't on, they act as ear plugs and of course, they don't interfere with the helmet.

It's very important to be aware of what's going on, although if you're in London for example, you really have to keep your wits about you but I'm in Devon where there's miles of open road and more chance of a sheep walking out in front of you than a car! :D and I travel more at full throttle for prolonged periods and then the engine noise can get a little 'droney'
