Re: Popeye goes to Europe
When I watch the video I realize that most of the photos we took would not have been possible had I been a solo rider. However the video does show the concentration required by the rider. I'm presuming that the video camera was fitted to the guys helmet.

Re: Popeye goes to Europe
We think that the scenery
from here was the best seen during our trip. We crossed from Ullapool to Stornoway
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stornoway
and then from Leverburgh to Berneray,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Berneray,_North_Uist
down the causeway through North and south Uist and finally from Loch Boisdale to Oban.
Black House. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_house
Now with a chimney but they didn't use to have, hence the name, 'Black House'

Your wife is certainly nifty with the camera. Beautiful shots there.

I have a friend on Berneray
who happens to run a B&B. 'Seal View'.
http://www.sealview.com/
very handy. We both share an interest in MZs and were, still are, MZ club members.
I could live here.
The seals are only 50 meters from the B&B.
More Hebrides to come

Back at the B&B
I enlightened my friend a little of the geography of Japan.
He then took us sightseeing to 5 mile beach.
Back on the Pennines.
The Final Push

Back in the Pennines
and going south to Long Preston and onto Nelson to stay at my mates house for a few days. I picked up a few more spares and had dinner with the family before moving on south to the Cotswolds.
I had a rendezvous at Watsonian. The next shipment of sidecars bound for Japan would also be carrying our Bike.
Stayed at another friends house before leaving the sidecar at Watsonians. His wife cooked a fish pie that was delicious and very memorable. We still talk about it.
Moreton in Marsh. Our last fish & chips.
Cadged a lift into Moreton from Blockley and stayed at the Bell. Ha No expense spared. The next day we were on the train into London and to Heathrow. Our bike came back to Japan eight weeks later.
So there you have it. Four and half months and ? lost track of the Kilometers. I have a lower geared Diff on the bike which puts the gearing down by 16%. There were a few problems with the bike but nothing serious. It ran much better after I fettled it myself. We didn't visit as much as we would have liked but we preferred the laid back routine rather than schedule. There is always next time. My next major trip will be across Russia in 2012. OK That's all folks. Thanks for sharing this post with me. I'll try to continue around Japan soon.

Re: Popeye goes to Europe
That was brilliant! It's sad that the journey has come to an end and I'm going to miss all these instalments.
