Thanks Pjam. Just a lucky chance when the sun came out. When we travel further north and into Scotland the weather turns really sour and we use a few B&Bs.

More hospitality in Limerick.
We met Eamon at the Federation Rally in Leominster only a few weeks before but he invited us to visit his home. Irish hospitality takes some beating.
Eamon took to a remote hillside where you can see the river Shannon like never before. I only wish I had a camera to do the views justice.
Time for a brew in this homely cottage.
Hard to believe but it was raining here. In fact we had rain from here to our journeys end almost every day.
What happens next?

I have never been to Ireland! It looks like a lovely place! Think I might have to attend a cub run over there one year

Re: Popeye goes to Europe
Although my first time of posting on this thread, I have been quietly following from the beginning. Just wanted to say how much I am enjoying it and to thank you for taking the time to post it all up on here. It makes me passionate for a good road trip.

So no one has a clue what happens next,
OK I'll show you.
It was only 3 hours old when we saw it. The owner was so pleased with the event he came to our tent and took us in his car to see it. A journey of all of 200 meters. Well it was raining.
I thought about a change.
No contest.
The weather looked OK but the campsites were sodden so we opted for a B&B.
A complete cottage almost and breakfast was brought to our door. 30 quid each for the night. Absolutely brill.
Glen Nevis campsite at Fort William but it was still raining.
Further north heading towards Applecross the weather improved.

Applecross.
Been there that many times, I feel a local. Very disappointed around 1990 when the Post Office closed its Tea Room. Fantastic scones.
This was the first time that I had been over the ' Pass of the Cattle ' to Applecross in Sunshine and fortunate enough to have my wife with me to take pictures both behind and in front on the fly because many times it's not convenient to stop.
This was our last camp at Ullapool. No rain but very strong winds. I was here in 2006 with four Japanese students and it was just the same then.
From here we took the ferry on to Stornaway.
Best part of the trip.

Yes you did Leiba. The road to Applecross is quite high. No seriously it was some kind of Ranger patrol. Needed in this inhospitable terrain.
