I don't know.... some say they are the same... some dont.... I did wonder if i could just get a head/barrel/piston and be done with it

But then im thinking along the lines of throwing the 125 in the CT90

That's the long-stroke version of 125 - 52.4 x 57.

An equal amount of 125s out there are 54 x 54. ;)

You can find out which by looking at the engine number.. The first number in the code contains the bore in mm...

So to make a 140... do we need the long stroke or short stroke engine???
Would a 125 head work on a 140? Or does it need to be changed?

And then what about a 160

For a given bore, obviously the longer stroke will give greater cc.

cc is half bore squared x pi x stroke

so a 56mm bore will get 140cc from the 57mm crank
or a 58mm bore would get 142cc from the 54mm crank.

I haven't a clue how big a bore you can fit between the Cub cylinder stud spacing though. I'm fairly sure above 140cc the Chinese engines use wider spacing.

OK, But the length of the bore will be what matters correct? I.e if i put the short one on a long crank engine it wont work because the barrel will be too short??
