Wtd: C90 front wheel 6v/12mm

Post by crogthomas » Mon Apr 24, 2023 11:21 am

I am in need of a front wheel for a late 70's C90. The one with the 12mm axle/wheel spindle.
I'm not too worried about cosmetic condition, but would prefer functional.
Let me know what you have.

Hi mate,

I'm having the same issue. Did you find a resolution?

I have a barn find c90 with a 12mm front axle, the front spokes are rusted through so I'm searching for a replacement rim. Not easy.

In my case I managed to find a spare hub, which is a part that seemed to be shared with many other Honda models (CB100, XL100, CT90) then buying a replacement rim and spokes (easily available) to build a new wheel. There do seem to be many variations of the C90 hub though, so it took a while to find one that had the same axle diameter and shape of the rest of the hub (like the diameter of the part that sits inside the speedo drive seal and the ridge around the outside of the drum).

If your hub is okay, I'd suggest you do the same.

David Silvers have rims. Not original, far East. But do the job. It's been a while, but in the past I've not had any problem getting wheels from my local bike shop...

Orwell Motorcycles in Ipswich.
