Wanted - Honda C90T carburetor

Post by George » Thu Jan 18, 2018 2:08 pm

As per the title, I'm looking for a late C90 12V original and working carburetor. Mine are playing up.

Thank you.

I have got some Keihin jets and most of the internals of a C90 carb, don't know if would be any good.

George, Humour me, and convince me it's your carb?

My bike used to run properly. Had a chinese carb with which I bought the bike. Used to run rich and DD sorted it at Matlock by soldering the main jet and re-drill it to 85. Was perfect until one day when I took it out and it was running very rough. Really bad, so bad I had to push it home. Got a Keihin from eBay which was bad... got another that was better but at 30 mph keeping it constant, it judders somehow. Under engine load, it's fine... And it starts very hard after not being used for a few weeks. Oh... and I can't rev it until the engine is warm. As soon as I twist the throttle, it cuts off. Not good in convincing, but I want to try an original Keihin and see from there.

Just ordered a few two from the web. One is a late 12V and one is an early C90E 1984 carb. Let's see.

George, I'm really not convinced. Look, I know you are a thoroughly decent chap. So, if you wish, I will take the carb off my beloved Git, and post it to you, to try to ascertain if that is indeed your problem. :|

This is against a background, of doing the same thing for another c90club member, 'Deano -Chav- Notts' to who I offered a similar gesture, the bike fixed his Cub, but however...

'Burglars' miraculously broke into his shed, and stole... of all things... f*****g amazing... my carb. :|

He's never replaced it, never made any attempt to re-imburse me for it.

But for you George, I would post it off tomorrow, because I 100% know you would return it.

Let me know. :D

Oh my... sorry to hear that... probably the burglars needed a good working carb.

Let me try and sort it out with the carbs ordered this week. If that fails, I will let you know. Will properly go through all the possibilities, just that I did not have the chance to do so lately. Will post a new thread under parts for sale and I'm sure you'll see why I say this.

Thank you Jim! I really appreciate the thought.

Will keep you posted.
