If you have a light blowing problem this won't help as it isn't switched in with the lights on. It's purely to stop the battery from over charging with the headlights off. A 4 pin regulator mod off a square headlight model is a reliable fix.

Re: WANTED:Honda C50LAC 3 pin regulator/rectifier
Hi again.
The problem i've been having is too much voltage is going to the lights, when i checked the headlight voltage is was 19V+, so i thought that the problem was with the regulator. I did check the voltage (at the headlight) without the regulator plugged in and the voltage was all over the place 16V+ with just over idle revs.
That is why i thought the regulator was the problem.
If the regulator is not the problem, do you have any idea's on what might be the culprit?
Thanks again Tim

Dodgy connection, corroded contacts, faulty resistor (only in on p position).
Put new tail light in and uprate the 25/25 headlight to a 35/35 halogen. All bulbs need to be working and in good condition otherwise there is insufficient load to stop the generator voltage rising. You could wire the pilot bulb in the headlight into the dark brown wire that feeds the rear light. That with the extra lad of a 35/35 halogen should stop the bulb blowing problem.
If any bulbs have an intermittent dodgy connection every time they flicker the extra juice has to be soaked up by the other bulbs. This is why the 4 pin regulator retro fit is a better option.

Re: WANTED:Honda C50LAC 3 pin regulator/rectifier
I think i've been told about the 4 pin regulator mod before, i did look into it but i got a bit stuck so i thought i would just try and find a replacement 3-pin regulator.
All of my lights still work, it's just the headlight bulb that has blown. So i'm thinking too much voltage is getting to the lights, although i've not checked the rear lights voltage yet.
Could you go into the 4 pin regular mod for me, i've been looking at the wiring diagrams for the C50LAC and C90 and the regulator (on the C90) goes to slightly different places, that's why i had been getting confused with it.
Thanks

Re: WANTED:Honda C50LAC 3 pin regulator/rectifier
Basically
Ditch the resistor, it lives on the inlet manifold.
Tape up the white wire with black stripe which is used on the current regulator.
Run a wire connected to the yellow wire down to where regulator lives.
New regulator will use current red wire and white wire that went to old reg, and also use new yellow wire and an earth that you can make with a round connector from the bolt that holds the regulator on.

I am stuck in a very similar situation. Could you elaborate please? What is the full procedure that you suggest?

my c50l 12v has also easy blown headlight bulb
A good battery helps to blow the bulb on my c50l
